NEW SECURITY AT MHS

You will now find a doorbell located at the student and teacher’s entrance. All visitors entering the MHS during the school day are being asked to ring the bell, state your name and tell us the purpose of your visit prior to being buzzed into MHS. Once you enter, please report to the main office, thank you for your assistance in keeping our students and staff safe.

For students: please show your student ID.

 
UPCOMING EARLY RELEASE / NO SCHOOL DAYS
Early Release days are as follows, students will be dismissed at 12;00noon on our last Early Release day on Tues., May 2nd.

No School from April 3 through April 7, 2017 - Spring Break (school resumes on Monday, April 10)

 
CLASS NIGHT '17
Seniors, Class Night is coming soon!  Tryouts will be held starting Monday, April 24th - Thursday, April 27th from 6pm-8pm in the music wing of the Auditorium.  Come with ideas or just to see what it's all about. 

Class Night '17 will be held on Friday, May 26th; scholarship portion starts at 6:15pm and the show itself will start at 7pm. Tickets to the general public will go on sale Friday, May 26th at 7am in the main office. 
 
UNITY DAY AT ALL MARSHALL SCHOOLS
The MPS District PBIS Committee has declared that Wednesday, May 3rd will be our Marshall Public Schools, "UNITY DAY".  We are asking all staff and students to join us in wearing your Redhawk/Marshall Schools attire or our colors of red and black.   
DECISION DAY AT MHS
Seniors, Thursday, May 4th is Decision Day at MHS, come dressed in the apparel that will represent your future plans.  A group photo will be taken 
FFA PLANT SALE

The annual FFA Plant Sale will be held on Thursday & Friday, May 4th & 5th from 8am-5pm and on Saturday, May 6th from 8am-1pm. There will be over 100 varieties of perennials, annual and hanging baskets.

 
HOOPING FOR A CURE
Hey Students!  Want a chance to take on your favorite teacher or coach on the basketball court?  The 1st Annual "Hooping for a Cure" basketball game is your chance to do that and raise money for a good cause - cancer research and the Kari On Scholarship!  Hooping for a Cure is a student vs. staff basketball game that will take place on May 6th at 5pm.  Buy a shirt before April 24th at Fug online and you get in free, or pay $5.00 at the door.  Any questions see Mr. Siebert or Mr. Bushong.

PROM NEWS

The date of the MHS Prom is Saaturday, May 13th, it will be held at Baldwin Hall on the Albion COllege Campus.

If your student will be bringing a guest to the Prom, they must have turned in a completed Guest Dance Application no later than Tuesday, May 9th by 3pm. No late applications will be accepted, forms are available in the office, on the Helpful Downloads page of our website or by clicking here.

, will be sold during both lunches.

 
GRAD BASH

Seniors – Celebrate your graduation night together!  Seniors, you have one week left to get your permission slips and money in for your Grad bash on June 3rd,  immediately following graduation.  You will be served a great dinner, get to experience a fun activity and then be transported to Airway Fun Center in Portage, MI.    Airway Fun Center will offer unlimited bowling, Laser Tag, Go Karts and Mini Golf (weather permitting), Bumper Cars, Balladium, Time Freak, Lazer Maze, Video Games and a ropes course!  Food is also provided as part of your ticket cost.  Tickets are $90/student.   Sign up forms were sent to homes and can be obtained from Rhonda Stepp in the office.  Any student who would like some help with the ticket cost should indicate this on the permission form and scholarships are available.  This information will be kept confidential.  The funding for this special event is supplemented by donations from parents and our generous, area businesses.  Donors should contact Lorie Upright at[email protected]  or Tammy Varvatos at [email protected].   Parent chaperones are needed and those who can help should contact Jenny Oleksa at  [email protected].   Class of 2017 – It’s time to celebrate your high school career together and have fun! 

 
FOOD SERVICE NEWS

The Food Service Department at all Marshall Public Schools offers breakfast on a daily basis to all students. The current prices are: Reduced Price = $ .30 and Paid = $1.55. Breakfast is available from 7am-7:30am at the Middle and High Schools and from 8:00-8:30 at the elementary schools.

 
REPORTING A STUDENT ATTENDANCE

To report a student(s) absence, please call 269-781-1337, this line is for attendance calls only, this line is not answered throughout the day, and messages will only be retrieved at the end of the day.

When a student arrives late or leaves the school day early, all students/parents must sign in or sign out in the main office on the computer located on Mrs. Stepp's counter.

If you need to get a message to your child at the end of the day, get your student(s) out of school early
or for general high school information, please contact Mrs. Stepp at 781-1252, option 0 or via email at [email protected]

If you know in advance that you will be taking your student on a vacation/family trip etc, have your student stop in the office to pick up a Vacation Form, or click below for the form, get all the required signatures and then turn it into the office for approval 2 weeks prior to the trip.

SCHOLARSHIP INFORMATON
Be sure to click on the counselor's page for available scholarships w/deadlines, when college/universities will be visiting MHS, links to colleges/universities and a wide variety of resources available to your students from our Counselors.  
SCHOOL CLOSING INFORMATION
MPS uses the School Messenger automated messaging system to notify parents and guardians in the event of school closings, early dismissals and any other important school related information.  If you have moved or gotten a new number, it is vital that parents/guardians keep contact/address information up-to-date with their school buildings.
