2017 Learn, Grow and Play Summer Program

Learn, Grow, and Play Summer Program 2019


The Learn, Grow and Play 2019 Summer Program enrollment is based on academic need. This program is a collaboration between Marshall Public Schools, the Albion Recreation Department and the Albion College Nature Center. Outdoor and hands-on learning experiences will be an important part of this program.

Eligible Students: Our current kindergarten to 4th grade students, the purpose here is to reinforce the instruction our students had this past school year and to assist them in their transition to their next grade in the fall.

Program Days/Hours: Mondays-Thursdays starting on Monday June 17th through Thursday, July 27th. School will be closed on July 4th & 5th for the Fourth of July Holiday.  School will resume on Monday July 8th 2019 and continue to it's end on July 27, 2019.  

Behaviors: Children who have (2) occurrences of misbehavior and whom have been directed to the building administrator during this summer session will be dropped from the program for the remainder of the summer session

Attendance: Children may not have more than two unexcused absences to remain in the program.

The schedule will be

=         Academic Morning: 8:30 a.m.-12:45 p.m.

=         Free Breakfast: 8:30-8:50 a.m. in the Harrington Cafeteria

=         Free Lunch 12:25-12:45pm in the Harrington Cafeteria

=         Buses will drop students off at the Recreation Department by 1pm

=         The Albion Recreation Department Afternoon Schedule is from 1:00p.m. – 4:00p.m. and is FREE to all Summer School Participants.  

The Albion Rec. Department is planning a fun and active afternoon for students whom have participated in the morning academic portion of this program. Buses will pick kids up to take them home from the Recreation Department at 4pm. Please contact the Harrington Office if you have any questions at 517-629-9166.
