Opportunities for Educators
The Tom & Lucy Franke Education
Enrichment Scholarship provides support to
educators whose job description under the
Marshall Public Schools master contract is
teacher, special teacher or counselor. The
Award may be used to fund such things as:
- Creation of special units in Science, Math, the Arts.
- Necessary classroom/additional materials.
- Student participation in special field trips to exceptional exhibits or involvement in other educationally sound experiences
- Guest faculty/speakers.
Deadlline: April 1 and October 1 - Application
The Marshall Music Fund is for Educators
seeking to enhance Music Programs in
Marshall Public Schools. The fund will:
- Support all music fields including instrumental, vocal, etc.
- Support programming for 5th—12th grade levels.
- Support programs for up to one year.
- Periodically augment Marshall Public School curriculum, but not as a standard practice.
Deadline April 1 and October 1 - Application
Opportunities for Students
The Dorothy Goddard Capman Poetry
Award is offered through the Marshall
Community Foundation to aspiring writers at
Marshall Middle School. Each contestant
may submit up to three entries.
The Awards
are as follows: 1st
-$100, 2nd
-$75, 3rd
-$50;
and Comic Muse 1st
-$50 and 2nd
-$25.
All
winners will receive a copy of Selected Poems
by Dorothy Capman and/or other volumes.
Contestants earning honorable mention will
also receive Dorothy’s Selected Poems. Further information may be obtained from MMS Educator Sabrina Tobias.

Scholarship provides
awards to Marshall High
School instrumental
music students (Grades 9
-12) seeking additional
training through music
camps, seminars or
summer programs such
as, but not limited to,
Interlochen Music Camp. Applicaton
The Phillip R. Clissold Vocal
Music Scholarship provides
awards to Marshall Public
Schools choir students (Grade
7-11) wishing to attend a
Summer Vocal Music Camp.
Recipients are required to
continue in the vocal music
program in good standing for
12 months after being
awarded. Application
The Tom and Lucy Franke Education Enrichment Scholarship provides support to students wishing to
participate in enrichment programs such as, but not limited to, weekend seminars, music or fine arts camps,
educational forums or regional, national or international travel for educational purposes. The amount awarded
will vary with the program and the financial need of the applicant and what he/she has done to help raise funds.
The number of scholarships awarded will vary based upon applicants and fund availability. Application
The Sullivan Family Enrichment Scholarship provides financial support to Marshall Public Schools students
willing to raise half of the necessary funds for participation in an enrichment activity. The scholarship may
support enrollment in activities such as, but not limited to, Philmont National, Boy & Girl Scout Camps,
Interlochen Music Camp, Close-Up program, educationally related travel, school choir/orchestra/band
programs and FFA enrichment activities. Application
