You have been redirected to our web site as Albion Community Schools annexed to Marshall Public Schools (MPS) effective July 1, 2016. Plans are underway for the start of the 2016-2017 school year. We will be working throughout the summer to prepare school buildings in the Albion community for the return of students to classrooms on September 6, 2016.

Where will children in the Albion community go to school?
Children in grades kindergarten (K) through grade five (5) will attend Harrington Elementary, located at 100 South Clark Street, Albion, MI 49224
Children in grades six (6) through eight (8) will attend Marshall Middle School, located at 100 East Green Street, Marshall, MI 49068
Children in grades nine (9) through twelve (12) have options:
1) Marshall High School located at 701 North Marshall Avenue, Marshall, MI 49068 for a traditional high school experience.
2) Marshall Alternative High School located at 225 Watson Street, Albion, MI 49224 for a non-traditional high school experience; for students who are motivated to complete high school; show high potential despite life circumstances; function well in a non-traditional setting; are behind in credits.
3) Eastern Calhoun Early College located at Kellogg Community College’s Eastern Academic Center 14055 26 Mile Road, Albion, MI 49224 for students who declare in their junior year of high school to take an additional year of high school, called a 5th year. This gives students a chance to take more college classes toward an associate degree. Students completing this program will graduate with a high school diploma, credits to transfer to a four-year college, associate degree or trade certification.
4) Michigan Youth ChalleNGe Academy (MYCA) located at 5500 Armstrong Road Building #13, Battle Creek, MI 49037 for an alternative to the alternative; a strictly voluntary program to consider for youth that might otherwise be expelled, drop out of high school or are likely not to graduate. My child is four years old and is not old enough to start kindergarten but I want them to begin some kind of education?
A Great Start Readiness Program (preschool programming) is available for qualified four-year-old children at little or no cost at Crowell Elementary located at 1418 Cooper Street, Albion, MI 49224. Contact Michele Morgan at 269-781-1298 for information.
What do I do to register my children for school?
A Back-to-School mailer will be sent through the U.S. Mail in early August. It will contain registration information, school start and end times, the school calendar, meal prices, important phone numbers and early childhood opportunities. If your student finished the 2015-2016 school year with Marshall Public Schools you will receive a registration packet through the mail in early August.
How do children in the Albion community get to school?
Bussing is provided for children who reside in the expanded MPS District based on proximity of children’s homes to the school. Bus stops, pick-up/drop-off times will be provided by MPS’s Transportation Department. Details will be published and parents/guardians will receive communication prior to the start of school by late August.
We reside outside the expanded Marshall Public School District (Albion School District/Marshall School District) however I want my child to attend school in Albion/Marshall?
We offer enrollment under School of Choice for students that reside outside our expanded district. To apply, submit an application to the Superintendent’s Office at 100 East Green Street, Marshall, MI 49068. Obtain Application
